Overview

Come grow with us by joining our team as a DMV Supervisor!  In this role, you will play a critical role for the company and will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the DMV/Title Office at the Corporate Office. This role serves as the key liaison between DMV Office Clerks and the Corporate DMV Manager, ensuring that all vehicle registration, titling, and licensing processes comply with state regulations. The DMV Supervisor will provide leadership, training, and support to DMV Office Clerks, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all documentation and processes. The position is more senior than the DMV Lead Clerk and carries additional responsibilities in decision-making and problem-solving within the department.

Responsibilities

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

  • Supervision & Leadership:
    Oversee the daily activities of the DMV Office Clerks, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to clerks to ensure high performance and adherence to dealership and state standards.
  • Compliance & Regulation:
    Ensure all vehicle registrations, titles, and licensing processes are completed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Stay up to date on regulatory changes and implement process updates as needed.
  • Process Improvement:
    Continuously evaluate existing DMV processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement. Work with the Corporate DMV Manager to implement changes that enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Issue Resolution:
    Act as the primary contact for resolving escalated DMV-related issues, whether internal or customer-related. Ensure all disputes and discrepancies are addressed in a professional and timely manner.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    Maintain accurate records of all DMV transactions and ensure timely submission of required documents to state agencies. Provide regular reports to the Corporate DMV Manager on department performance and compliance status.
  • Collaboration:
    Collaborate with other dealership departments, including Sales and Finance, to ensure seamless processes for vehicle sales, trade-ins, and financing. Address any DMV-related issues that arise during vehicle sales transactions.
  • Training & Development:
    Train DMV Office Clerks on new procedures, software, or regulatory changes. Provide ongoing development to ensure staff remain proficient and informed.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in DMV processing or title work within the automotive industry, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or senior role.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in DMV processes or related certification is preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong understanding of DMV rules, regulations, and processes.
    • Leadership and team management skills.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
    • Ability to resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in DMV-related software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certifications:
    • Any relevant certifications related to DMV compliance or automotive industry regulations are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced dealership office environment. The role requires flexibility in handling multiple priorities and ensuring accuracy under pressure.

Pay Range

$42,814 to $64,785
