Overview

Come grow with us by joining our team as a Back Counter Parts!  In this role, you will play a critical role for the company and will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments.  You will be responsible for procuring and distributing the parts inventory.  This position handles service department parts orders and distribution to shop personnel.  You will report directly to Warehouse Operations.

Responsibilities

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

  • Research the cost of parts from vendors for specific units needed for retail orders
  • Issue all PO’s authorized by Back Parts Counter operations
  • Pull required parts and relieve on work order in Excede
  • Distribute parts to assigned technicians
  • Review parts request from Service Writer and assigned technician to give parts status updates
  • Have an intermediate understanding of how to cross reference parts and how to create part substitute relationships
  • Have an intermediate understanding of inventory management/understanding stocking levels
  • Have an understanding how the Core return and credit process works and can perform these duties with some supervision
  • Have a basic understanding of how to cross reference parts
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years’ parts counter experience
  • Some automotive parts counter experience and basic automotive knowledge
  • An intermediate understanding of the parts that they will need to order and how/where to acquire parts required by our service department
  • Computer skills:  MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, Teams, and good typing skills
  • An intermediate understanding of mechanical/parts aspects of vehicles
  • Complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates exceptional workmanship
  • Works well as a team member and demonstrates leadership qualities
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as product markups and discounts, proportions, and percentages
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and responsible

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Will be required to do frequent kneeling, stooping, squatting, crawling, and climbing to perform multiple tasks of position
  • Must have good manual dexterity
