Overview

Come grow with us by joining our team as a Corporate Tax Manager!  In this role, you will play a critical role for the company and will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of corporate tax including income tax, property tax, sales and use tax, federal excise taxes, employee withholding taxes, employer taxes, and hazard taxes/fees. File for quarterly and yearly local tax incentives. Coordinate tax registrations for new locations and lines of business with the legal and human resources teams.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Corporate Tax Manager to oversee all aspects of our corporate tax compliance, planning, and reporting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the organization meets its tax obligations while identifying tax-saving opportunities and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and international tax laws

Responsibilities

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

 

1. Income Tax Compliance and Planning

 

  • Manage and review corporate income tax returns compiled by external CPA firm, including federal, state, and local filings.
  • Coordinate with external auditors regarding any tax related requests
  • Compile tax provision and state apportionment.
  • Oversee quarterly estimated tax calculations and payments.
  • Analyze complex tax issues related to pass-through entities.
  • Calculate and record monthly tax accrual.
  • Manage fixed asset tax depreciation schedule.

2. Sales and Use Tax

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Monitor nexus exposure and economic thresholds in light of evolving state laws.
  • Work with operations and IT to maintain appropriate tax collection and exemption processes.
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to ensure proper sales tax calculation in DMS systems (understand Vertex configuration and maintenance requirements)

3. Property Tax

  • Oversee personal and real property tax compliance, including preparation and review of returns and coordination with assessors.
  • Monitor assessed values and manage appeals or audits as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate asset registers to support filings and valuations.

4. Miscellaneous Taxes & Regulatory Filings

  • Manage other applicable taxes such as gross receipts taxes, business licenses, payroll tax, and franchise taxes.
  • Keep current on relevant tax developments and law changes impacting the business.
  • Research and analyze tax issues to facilitate decision making across the organization.
  • Assist in various other reporting requirements (ie. Census Bureau, Licensing Renewals, Tax Incentives)

5. Audit and Risk Management

  • Lead or support federal and state tax audits and respond to inquiries.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls around tax compliance and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Taxation or CPA strongly preferred).
  • 4-6+ years of progressive pass-through entity tax experience, ideally in both public accounting and corporate environments.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Pay Range

$95,000 to $135,000
