Overview

Come grow with us by joining our team as a DMV Specialist!  In this role, you will play provide advanced operational support within the DMV function, assisting with day-to-day execution of the department while ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely processing of vehicle titles and registrations across multiple states. This role serves as a business partner within the organization, providing consistency in compliance and customer experience, as well as serving as a key escalation point for complex DMV issues and customer support. This position will own departmental process improvement initiatives and state-specific research and other special projects. This role may lead a subset of DMV clerks depending on experience level.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support within the DMV department ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely processing of titles and registrations
  • Lead and support state-specific DMV research and other special projects of the department and cross-functionally within the organization
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex titling, registration, and compliance issues
  • Process advanced or exception-based title and registration transactions across multiple jurisdictions
  • Ensure compliance with all state-specific DMV requirements, including taxes, fees, and documentation standards
  • Partner with sales, operations, and finance teams to resolve deal issues and facilitate timely deal completion
  • Communicate with state agencies, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and obtain required documentation
  • Identify process gaps and inefficiencies; recommend and implement improvements to enhance accuracy and turnaround time
  • Monitor workload distribution and assist in prioritization to meet deadlines and service expectations
  • Depending on experience level, lead day-to-day activities for a subset of DMV clerks, providing guidance, training, and support

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in DMV/title processing, dealership administration, or related field (commercial vehicle experience preferred)
  • Strong multi-state DMV knowledge and ability to navigate complex titling scenarios
  • Demonstrated ability to handle escalations and resolve complex issues
  • Experience supporting or leading others in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in dealership systems and Microsoft Office applications

Pay Range

$58,000 - $62,000
